Michael Green at Spanish Trial Site
This web site has been prepared by Dr. Michael Green. He is an independent consultant working in the field of underground coal gasification, with 30 years experience in energy related engineering research.
He was the Director of the European trial of underground in-seam gasification in Spain which ended in mid 1999. For the past five years he has been working with the UK Department of Trade and Industry on UCG studies. These have included coal resource studies, advanced drilling, environmental reviews, economic, planning and public perception issues.
In 2004, Michael Green founded UCG Engineering Ltd to focus and develop his growing worldwide activities on underground coal gasification. Since its formation, enquiries from as far afield as China, India and Southern Africa have been received and several have progressed or are moving towards work contracts.
UCG Engineering is in contact with other specialists in UCG, drilling and geology and process as well as a number of Industrial companies interested in the technology, either as a watching brief or possible future exploitation. It is able to provide information and studies on UCG including;
